How to Make Quozi – Kuwaiti Dishes & Recipes

Ingredients

You will need the following ingredients for the lamb

  • One lamb egg with bone
  • Six tablespoons of olive oil
  • Three bay leaves
  • Two teaspoons of salt
  • One lime – juiced
  • Two teaspoons of ginger paste

You will need these ingredients for the filling

  • Two chopped carrots
  • Two chopped red capsicum
  • Two chopped potatoes
  • A half cup of peas
  • Two tablespoons of crushed walnuts
  • Two tablespoons of crushed cashew
  • Two tablespoons of raisins
  • Three tablespoons of vegetable oil

You will need the following ingredients for the rice

  • Three kilograms of basmati rice
  • One teaspoon of salt
  • Two tablespoons of red chili powder
  • Two cardamoms
  • Three cinnamon sticks
  • Three tablespoons of onion powder
  • Three tablespoons of ginger powder
  • Two tablespoons of garlic powder
  • Two tablespoons of turmeric
  • Two cups of oil

Instructions

For these steps to cook the lamb:

  1. Take a large-sized pot and add water to it
  2. Boil the water and add olive oil and salt
  3. Give these ingredients a stir
  4. Add the lamb leg and boil the meat for two minutes
    1. Do not cut the lamb lag
  5. Add lime juice, ginger paste, and bay leaf to the lamb
  6. Set aside

Follow these steps to prepare the filling

  1. Take a pan and add oil to it
  2. Add potatoes, carrots, capsicum, and peas to the pan
  3. Cook for 10-15 minutes
  4. Next, add cashew, walnuts, and raisins to the pan
  5. Cook for another ten minutes
  6. Take out the lamb leg and make a deep hole in it
  7. Now add the fillings to the hole and close it

Follow these steps to cook the rice

  1. Take a large-sized boiling pot and add rice to it
  2. Once the rice has boiled, add red chili powder, salt, cardamom, and white pepper
  3. Cook for another 10-15 minutes
  4. Now take a pan, add oil, garlic powder, ginger powder, cinnamon stick, and onion powder
  5. Add turmeric to the ingredients and cook for two minutes
  6. Once adds oil mixture to the rice and the water dries, take out the rice in a dish
  7. Place the lamb leg on top of the rice
  8. Use cashew, almonds, sliced onions, and sliced lemons for garnishing
  9. Now preheat your oven
  10. Bake them for 20-30 minutes
  11. Remove from oven and transfer to the serving plate
  12. Enjoy the delicious Kuwaiti Quozi
